Garlic and Ginger

Read a lot article about garlic recently, so now i don't have to worry that i ate a lot garlic when i eat bak kut teh... Below as another fwd mail string around... garlic can be as easy as put in slice of garlic when you prepare your rice with rice cooker, main advantage of garlic is able to promote immunity system of your body....

原来薑是这样有用

薑汤做法:

1. 约十公克的薑磨成糊状。

2. 把薑糊放入玻璃杯裡。

3. 注入滚烫的热开水。

4. 加入一匙蜂蜜,拌匀后饮用。

5. 男女老少都适合饮用。

老薑切片或拍碎煮黑糖功效一样连续喝两个月( 每天早晨入浴前各喝一次) 据书本记

载的见证:

1. 身体变温暖,手脚冰冷的『怕冷症』体质明显改善。

2. 体重可减轻约十公斤。

3. 皮肤变得细嫩。

Puppy of July

A sunny morning, i walk back from workshop (i dropped my car there to replace the rubber mount). Sis call me and said some one will come over to adopt puppy from my house, July give birth to 4 puppies 2 months ago, 1 pass away after weeks and left 3 of them...
First thing i do after turn off my handphone is pick my camera, goto play with them, and snap their photo...

Day turns to rain... and they enjoy to get wet...

After that, someone arrive, July suddently turn fierce and bark, those puppies goto that guy to play a while and after that go back to July, and for some reason as usual, July goto lick her wet puppies, and the eldiest one goto lick July from front, the other 2 just go behind July...

Moment later, that guy decided to adopt the eldiest male, i bring July into house while that guy pick up that male puppy, the other 2 puppies follow July into house as well... I don't know what happen next, until that guy drive away...

I release July... She didn't stick to me.... Just look around... another 2 puppies stay with me and the rain get slow...

I honestly appreciate someone who willing to adopt the big brother... I truly wish them all the best...

2 years ago, a puppy came into my house during July... so we name her July....

Fart forever

Recently, i always being caught to fart in public, until until everyone in my group experience my fart... they i could have too much onion... and my supervisor said she will ingat me whenever she look at the bawang... after a while, she forward me this, the original message is in Bahasa Melayu... Just to share... Kentut could cause explosive...

1. Dari mana asal kentut?
Dari gas dalam usus. Gas dalam usus berasal dari udara yg kita telan, gas yang menerobos ke usus dari darah, gas dari reaksi kimia dan gas dari bakteria dalam perut.

2. Apa komposisi kentut?
Bervariasi. Makin banyak udara anda telan, makin banyak kadar nitrogen dalam kentut (oksigen dari udara diaserap oleh tubuh sebelum sampai di usus). Adanya bakteria serta reaksi kimia antara asam perut dan cairan usus menghasilkan karbon dioksida. Bakteria juga menghasilkan metana dan hidrogen. Propors masing-masing gas tergantung apa yang anda makan, berapa banyak udara tertelan, jenis bakteria dalam usus, berapa lama kita menahan kentut. Makin lama menahan kentut, makin besar proporsi nitrogen, kerana gas-gas lain terserap oleh darah melalui dinding usus. Orang yang makannya tergesa-gesa kadar oksigen dalam kentut lebih banyak kerana tubuhnya tidak sempat menyerap oksigen.

3. Kenapa kentut berbau busuk?
Bau kentut kerana kandungan hidrogen sulfida & merkaptan. Kedua bahan ini mengandung sulfur (belerang). Makin banyak kandungan sulfur dalam makanan anda, makin banyak sulfida & merkaptan diproduksi oleh bakteri dalam perut & makin busuklah kentut anda.. Telur & daging mempunyai peranan besar dalam memproduksi bau busuk kentut. Kacang-kacang berperanan dalam memproduksi volume kentut bukan dalam kebusukannya.

4. Kenapa kentut menimbulkan bunyi?
Kerana adanya vibrasi lubang `anus` saat kentut diproduksi. Kerasnya bunyi bergantung pada kecepatan gas.

5. Kenapa kentut yg busuk itu hangat & tidak berbunyi?
Salah satu sumber kentut adalah bakteria. Fermentasi bakteria & proses pencernaan memproduksi panas, hasil sampingannya adalah gas busuk. Ukuran gelembung gas lebih kecil dan hangat dengan produk metabolisme bakteria yg berbau busuk. Ini kemudiannya menjadi kentut, walau hanya kecil volumenya,tapi SBD (Silent But Deadly)

6. Berapa banyak kentut diproduksi sehari?
Rata-rata setengah liter sehari dalam 14 kali kentut.

7. Mengapa kentut keluar melalui lubang dubur? Kerana density-nya lebih ringan, kenapa gas kentut tidak melakukan perjalanan ke atas? Tidak demikian. Gerak peristaltik usus mendorong isinya ke arah bawah. Tekanan di sekitar `anus` lebih rendah. Gerak peristaltik usus menjadikan ruang mempunyai tekanan, sehingga memaksa isi usus, termasuk gas-nya untuk bergerak ke kawasan yang bertekanan lebih rendah, iaitu sekitar `anus`. Dalam perjalanan ke arah `anus` gelembung-gelembung kecil bergabung jadi gelembung besar. Kalau tidak ada gerak peristaltik, gelembung gasakan menerobos ke atas lagi, tapi tidak terlalu jauh, kerana bentuk usus yg rumit & berbelit-belit.

8. Berapa waktu yang diperlukan oleh kentut untuk melakukan perjalanan ke hidung orang lain? Bergantung kepada kondisi udara, seperti kelembaban, suhu, kecepatan & arah angin, berat molekul gas kentut, jarak antara 'transmitter' dengan 'receiver'. Begitu meninggalkan sumbernya, gas kentut menyebar & konsentrasinya berkurang. Kalau kentut tidak dikesan dalam beberapa detik, bererti ianya mengalami pengcernaan di udara & hilang ditelan udara selama-lamanya. Kecuali kalau anda kentut di ruang sempit, seperti lift, kereta, konsentrasinya lebih banyak, sehingga baunya akan berlegar dalam waktu yang agak lama sampai akhirnya diserap dinding.

9. Apakah setiap orang kentut?
Sudah pasti, kalau masih hidup. Sesaat setelah meninggalpun orang masih boleh kentut.

10. Betulkah lelaki kentut lebih kerap daripada perempuan? Tidak ada kaitannya dengan gender... Kalau benar, bererti perempuan menahan kentutnya, & apabla mahu kentut, banyak sekali jumlah yg dikeluarkan.

11. Saat apa biasanya orang kentut?
Pagi hari di toilet. yang disebut "morning thunder". Kalau resonansinya bagus, boleh didengar di seluruh penjuru rumah.

12. Mengapa makan kekacang menyebabkan banyak kentut?
Kekacang mengandung zat gula yg tidak boleh dicerna tubuh. Gula tersebut (raffinose, stachiose, verbascose) jika sampai di usus, bakteria di usus berpesta & membuat banyak gas. Jagung, kubis, susu juga penyebab banyak kentut (bukan baunya!).

13. Selain makanan, apa lagi penyebab kentut?
Udara yang tertelan, makan terburu-buru, makan tanpa dikunyah, minum `soft drink`, naik pesawat udara (kerana tekanan udara lebih rendah, sehingga gas di dalam usus mengalami ekspansi & muncul sebagai kentut).

14. Apakah kentut sama dengan sendawa, tapi muncul dari lain lubang?
Tidak... sendawa muncul dari perut, komposisi kimianya lain dengan kentut. Sendawa mengandung udara lebih banyak, kentut mengandung gas yang diproduksi oleh bakteria lebih banyak.

15. Kemana perginya gas kentut kalau ditahan tidak dikeluarkan?
Bukan..tetapi diserap oleh darah, bukan hilang kerana bocor..Tapi bermigrasi ke bahagian atas menuju usus & pada gilirannya akan keluar juga.. Jadi bukan lenyap, tapi hanya mengalami penundaan.

16. Mungkinkah kentut terbakar?
Boleh saja. Kentut mengandung metana, hidrogen yg combustible (gas alam mengandung komponen ini juga). Kalau terbakar, nyala-nya berwarna biru kerana kandungan unsur hidrogen.

17. Bolehkah menyalakan mancis dengan kentut?
Jangan mengada-ada... konsistensinya lain.. Juga suhunya tidak cukup panas untuk memulakan pembakaran.

18. Mengapa kentut anjing & kucing lebih busuk?
Kerana anjing & kucing adalah karnivor (pemakan daging). Daging kaya dengan protein. Protein mengandung banyak sulfur, jadi bau kentut binatang ini lebih busuk. Lain dengan herbivor seperti kambing, kuda, gajah, yang memproduksi kentut lebih banyak, lebih lama, lebih kuat bunyinya, tapi relatif tidak berbau.

19. Betulkah pening kepala kalau mencium bau kentut 2-3 kali berturut-turut?
Kentut mengandung sedikit oksigen, mungkin sedikit saja anda mengalami pening kepala kalau mencium bau kentut terlalu banyak.

20. Apakah warna kentut?
Tidak berwarna.

21. Apakah kentut itu asid atau neutral? Asid, kerana mengandung karbondioksisa (CO2) & hidrogen sulfida (H2S). 22. Apa yang terjadi kalau seseorang kentut di planet Venus? Planet Venus sudah banyak mengandungi sulfur (belerang) di lapisan udaranya, jadi kentut di sana tidak ada kesannya.

Lemonade 柠檬汁

这趟的加州行,发现 lemonade 和汽水都一样是普遍的饮品,包过在快餐店。。。 是夏天热还是因为比较注意健康呢?还是柠檬过产?
我找来早前收着的email, 共勉之。。。

■檸檬汁的好處:檸檬具有高度鹹性,被認為是很好的治療所有疾病的藥,止咳、化痰、生津健脾。且對於人體的血液循環以及鈣質的吸引有相當大的助益,其豐富的維他命C,不但能夠預防癌症、降低膽固醇、食物中毒,消除疲勞,增加免疫力,延緩老化,保持肌膚彈性,並且克服糖尿病、高血壓、貧血、感冒、骨質疏鬆症等等。   

■強化記憶力:面對生活上的工作壓力,是否感覺到自己的記憶力愈來愈差?面對學校繁重的課業,總是害跟不上進度?身處在高科技、高生活水準的現代社會人,何必庸人自擾呢?就讓每天一杯檸檬汁解決你的問題吧!根據美國最新研究報告顯示,維他命C和維他命E的攝取量達到均衡標準,有助於強化記憶力,提高思考反應靈活度,是現代人增強記憶力的飲食參考。研究中顯示,由於血液循環功能的退化,造成腦部血液循環受阻,而妨礙腦部功能的正常運作。如利用清除自由基的抗氧化功效,可改善血液循環不佳的問題,因此對於記憶力及反應力的運作而言,確實有相當的幫助。但又要如何從飲食生活中做起呢?專家建議,檸檬具有抗氧化功效的水溶性維他命C類的食物,因此一天一杯檸檬汁有助於保持記憶力,且對身體無任何副作用,是日常生活中隨手可得的的健康食品。   

■改善骨質疏鬆:檸檬中的檸檬酸能使鈣易深化並能螯合鈣,可大大提高人體對鈣的吸收率,增加人體骨密度,進而預防骨質疏鬆症。缺乏鈣質是導致骨質疏鬆症原因之一,而預防骨質疏鬆症第一步是先從改善飲食生活開始,就是常吃含維他命C豐富的檸檬、柚橘類水果。基於檸檬對人體的血液循環以及鈣質的吸引,非常有幫助。這可是有實驗證明,在日本曾實驗過,參加試驗的共7人,年齡平均為36~59歲,每日早、中、晚飲檸檬果汁150毫升,連續飲用 3個月後,7人中有6人骨密度上升,此外檸檬汁中的檸檬酸還有抗腸炎菌、沙門氏菌、腸道出血性大腸菌0-157等食物中毒菌效果,能減少人體內疲勞物質乳酸產生。而在義大利的南部一帶盛產檸檬,當地人做任何料理都會使用檸檬提味,使得那裡的老年人個個身體非常健壯、頭腦清晰,所以改善飲食生活不妨將檸檬擠成汁,放在冰箱,口渴時加點水或紅茶當開水來喝,對身體是好處多多。   

■達到美容效果:檸檬可說是女性的水果,因它能安胎,故稱「宜母子」。它又能美顏,因其檸檬酸能去斑、防止色素沉著,內服外塗均有效果。檸檬本身就是美容妙品,可以促進胃裡蛋白分解砪的分泌,增加腸胃蠕動,幫助消化吸收。在國外的美容專家稱其為美容水果,認為檸檬汁可以潔膚美容,防止及消除皮膚色素的沉積(即是去斑),能令肌膚光結細膩。所以,每晚睡前如果用檸檬片擦面部皮膚(要持續),即能改善消除臉部上的油脂污垢和瑕疵,並且可以改善皺紋。用蛋白加檸檬汁來做面膜,可以緊膚及去除黃氣,令人容光煥發。而且原來一星期至少一次用檸檬汁來按摩指甲,有令指甲堅固的效用。   

■可防經濟艙症:你是否害怕在長期的時間下搭乘飛機呢?日本科學家發現,檸檬汁有助防止乘搭長途飛機的旅客,患上經濟客艙症候群,科學家建議應最少每五時便喝一杯檸檬汁,以幫助促進血液循環。研究人員曾在13名乘搭長途飛機的旅客身上進行實驗,讓他們喝下一大杯檸檬汁,然後再進行試驗,實驗結果發現他們的血液循環比之前加快了19%。研究人員解釋,檸檬汁內的檸檬酸和檸檬多酚,均能有效預防深靜脈栓塞,調整血液循環,減低血凝塊的機會,因此他建議長途旅客宜每隔5小時便喝一杯檸檬汁。由於乘坐長途飛機的旅客往往需要長時間維持同一個姿勢,而經濟客艙的座位又不夠寬敞,因此容易產生深靜脈栓塞的情形,亦即所謂的經濟客艙症候群。   

■料理美食:檸檬汁不但有以上幾種功能,媽媽作菜,而檸檬汁就變成了萬能的調味料了。因為它能夠去除腥味及食物本身的異味,無論是肉類中的腥味、海鮮腥味、蛋腥味、洋菇中的澀味及洋蔥的味道,只要加入少許檸檬汁,可減少這些味道而增加食物的風味。 
 
■檸檬的妙用◎在三明治旁放片檸檬,可保持三明治的新鮮。◎將檸檬汁滴到蘋果切面上,可防止變色。◎家裡的芥末存放太久,不妨加二、三滴檸檬汁,辣味就會增加;如用檸檬片蓋面,可保芥末醬新鮮,不會變硬。 ◎檸檬汁也是高超的清潔劑,能去除頑固的污漬 。白色的襯衫沾上紅茶時,趕快用水或溼布輕輕敲打,若還是不管用,滴上一滴檸檬什就可以馬上去除了。熨衣服時若不小心留下焦痕,試塗上檸檬汁後曬乾,多能除去焦痕。◎清洗衣物時最後一道清水中加入數滴檸檬精油,可使衣物保持清新的檸檬香味。◎榨完汁的檸檬皮渣,就此丟棄太可惜了,不妨放置在冰箱裡,可以除臭保鮮,或者浸在浴缸裡,泡個舒服的檸檬澡,美白潔身。知道這些運用技巧後,會發現真是一舉數得,好處多多呢

Aloe Vela Gel

You might notice Aloe Vela is material or ingrediant for a lot of skin health care product, or skin related product, most simple reason is because Aloe Vela have the content which is most similiar to skin of human.

Benefit
1. Helps heal minor burns, cuts & rashes ( and old rashes)
2. Helps alleviate the pain of sunburn while speeding healing
3. Works as a skin moisturizer has anti-inflammatory properties
and much more...

In stead of using those product which content Aloe Vela, why don't we apply Aloe Vela directly. hence, i would to share how i actually DIY to produce my own Aloe Vela gel...

Plant
Aloe Vela is easy to grow and care for, select the mature leaf (more than one year) of aloe vela which laid near to ground compared with other. These are largest and should be healthy...

Yellow sap is not usefull, leave the leaf upside down and drain the sap out for fews minutes...

Most people use aloe simply by cutting off a piece of leaf and squeezing the liquid onto their skin. This works, but it wastes the inner gel, which is the most potent part of the plant. To use the gel, you'll need to "fillet" the leaves rather than merely squeezing them. The filleting process also reaps much more aloe gel/juice. When properly prepared and refrigerated.

Use a spoon to gently scoop out the gel, or solid fillet...
These aloe juice that isn't commercially processed, so it tends to have an unpleasant odor. This is normal and won't affect its properties. Come to worst... just replace a new cup of new aloe vela gel, i don't know what is the expired date of these gel, but don't keep it too long in the refrigerator...
As storage, use a glass or food-safe plastic container. Best is something that can block out excess light. I use a ceramic cup with cover for these...

Bamboo Tree and Bak Chang

My mother grow a bamboo tree in garden, but she never call that as bamboo tree, she call that as "chang heok", 粽叶, which used to wrap bak chang, 粽子.... I'm not sure whether this "chang heok" is the same food that panda love a lot....

That bamboo located beside my banana and longan tree, it is 3 years old now, given by my uncle in Kangar...
It consider as easy growth plant, it growth a bit slow at my garden as the soil is bit hard for tree... But now... seem like she find a breakthrough way... from soil, banana, longan and daun inai...

My mother and i spend some time for prunning, to reduce "density" of leaf in garden, but main purpose to get the "chang heok", 粽叶 for chinese dumplings season...

If you plan to keep, you may keep it this way, to avoid the leaf become curly, which will make the wrapping process more difficult...


Before use, you need to clean... plain water will be fine to get a leaf free from dust and fur...
My mother start the wrapping process, today she didn't do bak chang, but red bean. Which is more suitable to wrap with green leaf...

Bamboo shoot 竹笋 is another product of bamboo tree... It is a new bamboo culms that come out of the ground... Bamboo shoot is material for mother on some delicious oriental dishes...

This is a bigger one, it can be eat before it turn to woody... one way to verify whether that shoot turn to woody is use your leg to kick it... it will break at the right location where woody starting...
After removing sterm and cleaning process, mom just leave it in water for few days.... hehe...
Bamboo is also usefull to build up any thing.... during my secondary school, harvesting bamboo is an important activities before our camping, we use that to build our headquater, camp and fencing... And now, mom use that to pick mango fruit from tree, and building rack to support her vine or climbing plant like Long Bean and Morning Gory.
As summary... Bamboo tree is very usefull and fully utilized by people, especially for my mom during this dumpling season... Happy Dumpling Day for all!!! hehe....

Meal of the day 一天三餐

I think we might not perfect to practice all these, but try your best, sedikit sedikit, lama lama menjadi bukit....

《越晚吃飯致死率越高!!》

晚上8:00才吃晚餐就算宵夜了!你是不是也常忙到 8:00才吃飯呢?小心喔! 根據統計, 70%的人具有酸性體質。酸性體質有一個很大的特徵,吃愈好得慢性疾病的機率就會很高。 因為體質變酸,酵素作用會受到阻礙,內分泌失調,荷爾蒙也會受阻礙。 酸性體質的朋友,一味地吃大魚大肉所謂有營養的食物,事實上是雪上加霜,只會讓身體越來越糟。 要找出問題的根源是去改變你的體質,才是根本解決之道。(人體應呈現弱鹼才好)

《熬夜會使體質變酸》
晚上1:00以後不睡覺,人體的代謝作用由內分泌燃燒,用內分泌燃燒產生的毒素會很多,會使體質變酸,通常熬夜的人得慢性疾病的機率比抽煙或喝酒的人都來得高。所以每天儘量在12:00以前睡覺,不要常熬夜,若非要熬夜,一星期以一次為限!熬夜時不要吃肉,盡量吃碳水化合物,這樣隔天才不至於很累,可把傷害減至最低。

《吃宵夜的人,體質容易變酸》
時常交際應酬的生意人,通常壽命較短,易患糖尿病、高血壓。凡是晚上8:00再進食就稱做宵夜。吃宵夜隔天會疲倦,爬不起床,肝也會受損,因為睡覺時,人體各器官活動力低,處於休息狀態,因此食物留在腸子裡會變酸、發酵、產生毒素傷害身體。

《早起的人身體好》
人體在凌晨4:30,體溫達到最低點,血液循環最慢,因此古時候練功的人在4:30以前就起床。 如果睡太晚,血液循環變慢,氧氣也跟著減少,變成缺氧性燃燒,會使體質變酸。

《不吃早餐的人,體質會變酸》
一天三餐中,早餐佔了70分,午餐0分,晚餐30分。可見早餐最重要,但台灣人普遍不吃早餐,更糟的是養成吃宵夜的習慣,這是非常不正確的飲食習慣。所以從現在起要更重視早餐,學習如何吃早餐。早餐一定要豐富而且要選擇耐燃燒4-5小時的食物,才足夠你一天的消耗量。

《精緻食物加速胃腸老化》
少運動且整天坐在辦公室的上班族最容易犯這種錯誤,因為吃的少,刻意選擇很精緻的食物而少吃粗糙的食物,這種人的腸子老化的特別快,肝功能差,大便是黑色的而且會常便秘。因為精緻食物缺乏纖維素,會導致腸子功能變差,甚至萎縮,你所吃的食物變成了毒素,使你體質變酸,慢性病也開始。養生之道就在日常生活裡,吃出健康,也能吃出自信。

Korean BBQ 韩国烤肉

Last week, we had a gathering plus birthday celebration with Soh Peng, and we went to the 1st day of Korean BBQ DOARAE at I-Avenue, Penang... 2 suprises upon enter the restaurant, 1st is all the staff we saw was korean, boss and chef was so friendly to welcome us... 2nd was no charge on kerean wine during that night, price of 1st 2 bottle from left is RM 40, 3rd bottle is RM20... and we manage to dry it all end of the day....
I appreciate the healthy way that Korean practice, they had various type of appetizers, non of those was fried, they like to manage food with stim, merinating, bake or toast... rarely fried... Name of appetizer that i can remember served that night was kimci, vegetable salad and sea weed... hehe... Nutrition of those food is good for health... I'm not sure that is promotion during 1st day or not, but those appetizer will be refilled when you finish, so if you doesn't want to waste food after they refilled, remember to stop them from refill.... As well in the bill, we don't see price of those nice appetizer, maybe they charge it somewhere in our items... or is really special promotion of 1st day...

As for BBQ portion, server is concerning about cleaniness of pan or special heating plate that used for our BBQ ing, they replace those plate frequently which we never do during our own DIY BBQ session... hehe... meat is good with rich calorie for energy... BUT...

BUT.... If you are not the type of people who always consume a lot energy, those rich calorie will become high cholestrol for you...

When some one invent BBQ for some reason, they are innovative as well to balance up the concern on high cholestrol of these tasty BBQ meat... thus they serve lettuce and garlic as well... Lettuce (生菜) is fat free and low calorie food for well balance diet. Garlic (蒜) is so famous with multiple kind of good nutrition, in this case, it plays a role in managing the high cholestrol level... As well, korean BBQ also serve different type of sauce, but i'm not really study benefit of those sauce yet...

Another good thing about this activities is you won't finish all the BBQ so fast, lettuce will also occupied some space on your stomoch... so the benifit is you get more time, more topic for chatting with your peer, and don't have to take a lot calories to feel full... those calories is not cheap...

Recycling computer in Penang

I have two monitors and one CPU which is defective, i can not manage to repair that, what i can do is to look for alternative to dispose that, until i found a company name IRM, i called them and get to know that i can recycle those defective computer under their program working together with MPPP, DELL, SUNSHINE... Below as handout about the program... Bring your used computer, printer, LCD, CRT, scanner, and other accessories for recycling and receive SUNSHINE cash voucher, 50 cent/kg... You know what is the weight of old time crt monitor?

Below as location of collection center at Penang, i sent my used monitor and CPU to Sunshine Jelutong, there was one lorry on duty, every Tuesday 7pm to 9.30pm...
